Apart from regular exercise, eating a well-balanced diet can help lower your risk of chronic diseases. But what is healthy diet? Find out in this video.

The first step to a healthy diet is understanding the Food Pyramid. In this pyramid, food can be divided into 4 groups: Rice and alternatives, fruits and vegetables, meats and alternatives, and fats, oils, sugar and salt. Rice and alternatives should be taken in relatively great portions, while fats, oils, sugar and salt should be taken in small quantity. You should also have 2 servings of fruits and vegetables daily, and have a variety of fruits and vegetables for maximum health benefits!

Be sure to limit your intake of high-fat and oily food, high-sugar food and beverages (such as sodas, energy drinks and 3-in-1 beverages), and foods with high-salt content (like instant noodles, canned food, fast food, chips and sauces).

Lastly, avoid overeating and eating too fast. You are what you eat, so the healthier you eat, the healthier you will be.
