​29 October is World Stroke Day. This year’s national annual Stroke Awareness campaign titled “Timing is Everything” reiterates the need to act fast the moment the signs of stroke are spotted. For every minute a stroke is left untreated, an estimated 2 million brain cells die. This is why fast stroke detection leads to better recovery and quality of life post-stroke. It is also important for caregivers of stroke survivors not to neglect their own well-being. Community resources are available for both caregivers and patients.
