"Working at the Department of Emergency Medicine means I have to be ready to tackle tough situations of all kinds at all times.  I've had to deal with drunken patients who made it difficult to treat other critical patients; suicidal patients who arrived crying and screaming; and severely injured accident victims.

As a patient's condition may deteriorate quickly without warning, being alert and vigilant can mean the difference between life and death for them.  Every time the team saves a life, the satisfaction is beyond words. "
