KKH and the SingHealth Duke-NUS Translational Immunology Institute (TII) have jointly been accepted as a Center of Excellence (CoE) by the World Allergy Organization (WAO), joining close to 80 academic medical centres worldwide in advancing allergology and clinical immunology.

“As Singapore’s leading children’s hospital, we are working closely with TII to pursue breakthroughs in allergy, asthma, and clinical and translational immunology,” said Dr Chong Kok Wee, Head and Senior Consultant, Allergy Service, and a WAO CoE director, KKH.

“We are eager to embark on this joint effort with KKH to further translational research in immunology to better understand disease mechanisms and address the unmet health needs of our society,” shared Professor Salvatore Albani, Director and WAO CoE director, TII.

As a WAO CoE, KKH and TII will also jointly drive resource development for healthcare professionals, and community care network engagement to empower patients and their families for better long-term health.
