"It's not easy to describe what I do as a Cardiac Technologist, because it involves many medical terms that people may not understand. What I can tell you is that my job is a very dynamic profession. At any time of the day, I can be at the clinic monitoring my patients' abnormal heart rhythms, I can be in the lab running diagnostic tests, or I can be in the wards with my patients to see how well their hearts function through echocardiogram (ECG).
When I first started, I had difficulties making sense of ECG graphs, but I've grown to love them. Now I thrive in the Electrophysiology lab, assisting doctors by providing treatment to patients diagnosed with fast / irregular heart rates. Benjamin Franklin once said, 'Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn. ' To me, the key to keeping my passion alive is to cultivate the interest and promote self-learning."
