"Our patients are mostly sedated and our time with them is short.  Surgical patients suffer unimaginable mental and emotional anguish, often with a feeling of helplessness.  As perioperative nurses, we have the unique opportunity to reassure and care for them in their most vulnerable state.

We may not be able to heal them physically but we can play a part in restoring their state of mind.  We can make a difference in every patient's life as long as we always do our utmost best in carrying out our work mindfully."
