As a member of the Office for Service Transformation, I am proud to be a part of the dynamic and innovative team working towards delivering quality healthcare services to the community. My role focuses on improving patient experiences through process improvement and transformation initiatives.

At SingHealth, I have had opportunities to work on numerous projects aimed at improving the healthcare experience for our patients, and work processes for our staff as well. From working on projects that enhance our electronic medical record systems to streamlining processes, my role has allowed me to make a real difference in the lives of those we serve. Knowing that improving processes for our staff can ultimately affect patients' quality of care, and enhance patient safety, is truly meaningful to me.

In one such project, we worked with our nurses to redesign the process of ordering and charging of ward procedures. Called the Electronic Charge Capturing (ECC) project, we leveraged technology to reduce the administrative burden of filling in forms manually, allowing our nurses more time for patient care. This increased operational efficiency and productivity for nurses, allied health professionals and admin support staff. In fact, the project received news coverage and was also mentioned by Minister of Manpower Dr Tan See Leng in his speech at the Singapore Healthcare Management 2022. It was a truly exhilarating experience to see our hard work and commitment to improving patient care being recognised.

Working with a team of supportive colleagues makes my job even more enjoyable. Good colleagues make working together a pleasant experience and make tackling tough projects more manageable. I am grateful to be surrounded by individuals who share a passion for improving patient care, and bring a positive attitude to work every day!
