"I want to help my patients to gain the life skills they need to live day-to-day and relearn how to connect with their environment.  There was once I brought my patient on a home visit to try out all the adaptive methods and equipment we had prepared and to see whether he could care for himself after his discharge.  He was so glad to be home that he cried, he told me it had never registered to him that would ever be able to go home till that day.  My helping him changed his life, and it reminded me that the work we do make a difference."
