The Family Nexus@Punggol booth, where families can explore the comprehensive health and parenting support services available
Whether you are a couple planning to start a family, have a baby on the way or are parents of children aged 0 to 6 years, Family Nexus offers something for you.
Family Nexus@Punggol is a one-stop site that integrates health services with connections to relevant social services and programmes, ensuring families can easily access the resources they need to support their children's health, development, and overall well-being—including marriage and parenting resources—all-in-one convenient location.
Located in SHP-Punggol and developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Health (MOH), the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF), and Families for Life (FFL) Council, this programme aims to provide easy access to a wide range of essential resources, all under one roof.
"Referring individuals to social domains through Family Nexus@Punggol introduces an additional component that will enhance support not only for the mother and child, but for the entire family. Families that visit SHP-Punggol for their child's vaccinations or developmental assessments can register for parenting programmes organised by Families for Life directly at the polyclinic, where an on-site coordinator will be able to connect interested parties to the relevant programmes," shared Dr Guo Xiaoxuan, Clinic Director of SHP-Punggol and Programme Lead for Family Nexus@Punggol.

at the Family Nexus booth
Parents no longer need to visit multiple locations to find out about different services. The Family Nexus booth within SHP-Punggol is available to help families find the right programmes and resources tailored to their specific needs. Do you know that there is a Families for Life Parents Telegram Group (
https://go.gov.sg/ffl-parentsgroup) set up for parents to connect with one another in the town that they live in, network and learn from each other's marriage and parenting experience and tips?
3. Parenting and Marriage Programmes
Through Family Nexus@Punggol, families can sign up for Families for Life parenting programmes designed to improve family relationships and support child development, including:
- Purposeful Play (PP) for strategies to enhance their child's learning and development through interactions and play.
- Positive Parenting Programme or Triple P (an internationally recognised evidence-based programme) for techniques to promote psychological, social and emotional competence, as well as
- Signposts to help parents understand, prevent and manage children's difficult behaviours.
Couples can benefit from marriage enrichment programmes like PREPARE/ENRICH to deepen connection, improve communication, manage stress and strengthen relationships.
What Parents Are Saying Parents who have joined parenting programmes such as Purposeful Play through Family Nexus@Punggol have shared that the programmes are interactive and enjoyable, highlighting the valuable bonding time it provides for both parents and children. Many who were previously unaware of these programmes were grateful for the easy access to these services through Family Nexus@Punggol. Some have even introduced the programme to friends and family, helping to expand the circle of support for other families in the community.
"The programme allowed us to learn new techniques to engage the children and most importantly, get to know some of the available community resources," shared Mr Rajagopalan, one of the Family Nexus programme participants.
