Our tenth polyclinic, SingHealth Polyclinics - Tampines North is now opened! Located in the new Tampines North estate, SHP-Tampines North provides a comprehensive range of primary care services, including outpatient medical care and treatment for chronic and acute conditions, women's and children's health services, immunisations, allied health services such as physiotherapy, podiatry, and dietetics, as well as diagnostics and radiological services, including X-ray, mammogram, and ultrasound.
Officially opened on 29 September 2023, the event was graced by our Guest of Honour, Mr Ong Ye Kung, Minister for Health, and attended by the Advisers of Tampines GRC, including Senior Minister of State (SMS) Dr Koh Poh Koon, and Senior Parliamentary Secretary (SPS) Mr Baey Yam Keng.
The event kicked off with an opening address by Minister Ong, where he opined the importance of expanding our primary care capacity, which includes the building of new polyclinics to serve our residents, and leveraging technology to expand the use of telemedicine services to meet the rising demands for healthcare services. This includes the pilot launch of SHP's Acute-On-Demand TeleHealth (AODTH) service for patients who wish to consult a doctor for their General Medical Conditions, as well as the upcoming centralised TeleHealth Hub at SHP-Eunos, which will bring clinical and administrative staff together in one location to enhance the delivery of care to our patients.

Following his address, our nine VIPs including Minister Ong Ye Kung, SMS Dr Koh Poh Koon, SPS Mr Baey Yam Keng, Mr Cheng Wai Keung, Chairman, SingHealth, Professor Ivy Ng, Group Chief Executive Officer, SingHealth, Professor Ng Wai Hoe, Group Chief Executive Officer (Designate), SingHealth, Dr David Ng, CEO, SHP, A/Prof Paul Goh, Director, Polyclinics Development, SHP, and Dr Sabrina Wee, Clinic Director, SHP-Tampines North officiated the symbolic launch of SHP-Tampines North. The launch activity featured our VIPs watering the lush green plants before them to signify the life and good health that SHP-Tampines North will bring to our residents. To complete the launch. Minister Ong was invited to place a commemorative plaque, made from recycled disposable wooden chopsticks, into the soil to signify not just our commitment to care for our patients, but also to protect our environment.

After the launch, our guests were treated to a performance by seniors from the neighbouring House of Joy Active Ageing Centre, where they performed a heart-warming rendition of the popular folk song "小人物的心声 - The Voice of the Ordinary People". Their savvy dance moves coupled with the meaningful lyrics brought the atmosphere in the room to its highest, as our guests sang along and swayed to the rhythm of the music.

To mark the end of the stage activity, tokens of appreciation were presented to Mr Kenny Low, Executive Director, City Harvest Community Services Association (House of Joy) and Mr Leonard Lim, OC Correctional Unit Singapore Prison Service, Visual Arts Hub to express our deepest gratitude for their extensive collaboration and support.

At the end of the stage activities, our guests were ushered to level 1 for the Tree Planting Ceremony, where our VIPs planted and watered a Tempinis Tree to signify our commitment towards sustainability. This is followed by the Adopt a Tree Programme, where we acknowledged and thanked our donors for supporting our fundraising efforts in support of research and education endeavours in Family Medicine.
Finally, our guests were treated to a tour of the brand-new polyclinic, where they had the opportunity to explore the new facility and understand more about the services offered in SHP-Tampines North. The tour was filled with much buzz and hype, as staff and patients eagerly whipped out their phones and cameras for wefies with our VIPs.

During the tour, our guests were intrigued by the beautiful art pieces of nature and scenery displayed on the walls along the staircase. These paintings, contributed by Singapore Prison Service (SPS) Visual Arts Hub, were hand-painted by inmates from the SPS. This is part of the Healing Arts @ SHP programme, an initiative to transform healthcare experience through arts, and make art accessible in the community. The beautiful art pieces provide a sense of calm and peace amidst the vicissitudes in life, and we hope that these paintings can help lift the moods of our patients who are seeking treatment in our polyclinic.
