30 March 2020 - The COVID-19 outbreak has tested the resolve of Singaporeans, not least healthcare workers and hospital staff on the front line of the fight against the virus. Yin Yin Mon, a CGH inpatient housekeeper who has been cleaning the Isolation ward shared that she is extra cautious when changing bed linen and emptying trash bins in the ward, but is overall unfazed by the ongoing situation and takes pride in her work. Dr Jiang Boran, a senior medical lab scientist shared with TNP that he has had to work longer shifts as the workload has doubled or even tripled due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Nonetheless, Dr Jiang sees it as his duty to play a part in the diagnosis of patients.

Recognising the sacrifices and contributions they have made, Minister (MND) Lawrence Wong, co-chair of the COVID-19 multi-ministry task force, paid tribute to them in his speech to Parliament on 25 March.
