“The mountains have taught me a lot about myself.”

Through the many storms that I’ve been through, where injury was plausible and the outcome uncertain, the mountains have taught me a lot about myself; how I react when the going gets tough, and much about mental resilience. This same spirit of exploration and tenacity also led to my decision to take up medicine, which I have found to share many similarities with mountaineering.

In organising this fundraising climb, we aspire to provide an opportunity for our fellow classmates to experience a journey that shares similarities with that of medicine, and to raise funds for student financial aid which supports a majority of students here at Duke-NUS Medical School.
