"I have been a nurse for 34 years. One of my most memorable moments was when a patient I was treating suffered two heart attacks shortly after giving birth - once just after giving birth and the second while breastfeeding her newborn child.

We managed to save her life and after being implanted with a Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD), she could resume some normality in her life and care for her young child. This was one incident that inspired me to be more involved in fundraising so that we can further medical research and education.

Like how the LVAD gave my patient a second chance in life, giving to medical research can help improve the lives of patients by advancing the search for cures into deadly and debilitating diseases. I am proud that I am able to do my part to make a difference in patients’ lives."
