NHCS Heart To Heart Fund was blessed with very strong staff support in 2020 despite it being a challenging year for everyone! Many colleagues participated in our various campaigns and gave towards NHCS Heart To Heart Fund causes, all with the common goal of helping our patients.

Although we were unable to hold physical fundraising events last year, some of our colleagues came up with creative ways to support Heart To Heart Fund nonetheless.

Corporate Development (CD) Team Challenge 2020

From 15 October to 31 December 2020, the whole CD department rose to the challenge to raise more than $1,200 for Heart To Heart Fund. Setting their own targets for staff participation, sections who met their targets were presented with a special Thank You basket sponsored by Elaine Loh, Senior Manager, CD. Currently, the department has achieved a participation rate of almost 90%! On top of being a monthly staff donor, Yvonne also matched the total funds raised by the team (including pledged amounts by monthly donors for 12 months) during the challenge. Talk about walking the talk!

Year-End Treat With A Twist

Every year without fail, one of our NHCS colleagues – Henry Luong, Executive, Patient Experience, will treat a department or team to some year-end goodies as an appreciation of the peers at work.

This year on 18 December 2020, he bought staff from NHCS Specialist Outpatient Clinics some yummy puffs from Chewy Juniors. With our heart patients in mind, he encouraged staff who wish to make a donation, to consider giving to Heart To Heart Fund’s needy patients! Not only did he raise more than $300, he topped it up with a donation himself.
