"I started my adventure on the road to become a perfusionist on 10 January 2011.  A perfusionist is a specialized healthcare professional who uses the heart-lung machine during cardiac surgery and other surgeries that require CardioPulmonary Bypass (CPB) to manage the patients' physiological status.

I have gained so much by caring for my patients, and it gives me great satisfaction to know that I can make a positive impact on someone's life, however large or small. Being a healthcare professional also means a commitment to lifelong learning and that enables me to continue giving my best to our patients.

I can still remember an incident that happened during one of my on call duties, where I saw the patient's family waiting anxiously at the cardiovascular laboratory in the middle of the night. In that instant, I knew I could play my part to save their loved one."
