In conjunction with the International Day for Older Persons, SingHealth and SKH launched the INFINITY-ICOPE Programme on Saturday, 5 October 2024, that helps screen six key functions of senior citizens within five minutes. Under the programme, SKH works with Active Ageing Centres (AACs) to conduct health screenings for seniors to assess their hearing, vision, cognition, mobility, vitality, and mental health.
Assoc Prof Laura Tay, Head & Senior Consultant, Department of Geriatric Medicine, SKH and Head of the SingHealth Duke-NUS Centre of Memory and Cognitive Disorders, shared that if the screening shows a lack in a certain area, the INFINITY-ICOPE team will work with the AAC to refer the senior to relevant agencies for follow-up. For example, SKH's community nurses will conduct further assessments for seniors who are identified to have emotional, cognitive or mobility issues. Currently, the programme has been launched at three AACs in the northeast and benefitted 130 seniors.
