"Having worked in an acute orthopaedic ward for many years, I hardly come across death cases among my patients. However, this changed at SCH, where we also care for palliative patients. I remember there was a patient whose dying wish was to return home, but his family was unable to fulfil his wish as they could not provide the care needed for the patient at home.
It was left to us nurses to really step in, and do our utmost to ensure that the patient is happy and comfortable during his hospital stay until his last breath.”
