FOOD CULTURE AND IMPACT ON HEALTH

Singaporeans are spoilt for choice when it comes to food, but the heart of Singapore food culture still lies in our hawker centres. How did these hawker centres arise and what are the stories behind some of our most famous dishes?

Dr Tay will take us on a historical tour of some of Singapore's most iconic dishes and discuss its implications on public health.

Panelist 2 - Ms Nichol Ng

FOOD INSECURITY AND SOCIAL ASPECTS

Food insecurity is about the inability to have access to sufficient, well-balanced food due to physical and/or financial shortcomings. By identifying the specific factors that contribute to food insecurity, and learning about experiences people have, we may be able to bridge the gap to fulfil a smoother, more targeted support distribution system.

Ms Nichol will go in depth on food insecurity, where it began, and how to move forward. How does our society get rid of Food Insecurity, which will lead us closer to social stability?
