“The Neuroscience clinic sees more than 350 patients every day.   Majority of the patients are the elderly with conditions such as movement disorder, stroke and neuromuscular disorders who are prone to falls. To improve patient safety and reduce occurrence of falls in the clinic, we have developed a falls assessment tool to identify those aged 65 and above who are at risk of falls.

Patients found to be at risk are recognised with an orange sticker when they are in the clinic.   Nurses then share with them fall prevention tips while they are waiting to see the doctor and keep an extra lookout for them.”
