​12 January 2021 - Even before infants begin learning to talk, parents can start to pay attention to their oral health, diet, and oral motor skills. Dr Jessica Khong from NDCS discussed teething in infants, tooth eruption, and how parents can manage this stage of their babies’ lives. She also highlighted the importance of taking care of infants’ oral hygiene, oral habits, and explained how they can be at risk of developing caries. Dr Khong also shared information regarding toothbrushing for infants, and when parents should start bringing them to the dentist.

KKH experts Ms Goh Siew Li, Head, Speech Language Therapy Service, and Ms Grace Quek, Senior Dietitian, Nutrition and Dietetics Department, also covered topics such as, weaning, introducing solids to babies, ensuring that their nutritional needs are met, things to take note of when they are eating or drinking, and development of oral motor skills.
