​It is estimated that there are 8,000 Parkinson's Disease patients in Singapore. Assoc Prof Prakash Kumar, Senior Consultant and Head of Neurology, NNI @ SKH, shared that with an ageing population and an increasing life expectancy, the number of Parkinson's Diseases patients were expected to increase by 2030. Currently, experts had not been able to find the cause of Parkinson's Disease. Although there is no cure, medication and physiotherapy could help reduce the effects of the disease.
