​Responding in Parliament to a question by Dr Tan Wu Meng on access to medical care for people with motor neuron disease (MND), Rahayu Mahzam, Senior Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Health, shared there are a range of services available including video consultations, ambulance transport and home visits. She shared that home-based nursing care has been available for stable MND patients not on ventilation support through the NNI Community Health Programme, since November 2020. Under this programme, NNI has provided inter-professional training to community care partners on the management of persons living with neurodegenerative conditions, including MND.
