Researchers from Duke-NUS and NNI share their discovery of the cause for epilepsy in patients with Angelman Syndrome (AS), which is a rare genetic disorder and a form of autism. The findings may lead to identifying effective drugs to treat or prevent epilepsy in AS or other autistic conditions, and thus, improving the quality of life for patients and their families.
