KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital (KKH) has established the Lim Sok Bee Developmental Paediatrics Fund in honour of the late Associate Professor Lim Sok Bee, a visionary trailblazer in child development.

Launched at the inaugural KKH Developmental Paediatrics Conference in March 2024, the fund aims to support the professional growth and development of child development professionals – including allied health professionals, nurses and paediatricians – through training opportunities such as fellowships, conferences and collaborations.

The former head of the Department of Child Development at KKH, the late Assoc Prof Lim led many community outreach programmes to build the capacity and capability of community-based services and address service gaps. She received the SingHealth Distinguished Mentor Award in 2014, in recognition of her inspirational leadership.

“Sok Bee was a passionate advocate for children with developmental needs and their families. We hope to continue her lasting legacy by enriching the landscape of developmental paediatrics in Singapore and beyond, and support every family to give them the best start to life,” said Associate Professor Lourdes Mary Daniel, Head and Senior Consultant, Department of Child Development, KKH.

To date, the Lim Sok Bee Developmental Paediatrics Fund has successfully raised $150,000 through family and friends of the late Assoc Prof Lim.
