The SingHealth Duke-NUS Academic Medical Centre today announced key leadership changes which will take effect from 1 May 2017.

Professor Ang Chong Lye, Chief Executive Officer of Singapore General Hospital (SGH) since 2008, will pass the leadership baton to Professor Kenneth Kwek, who is currently the Deputy CEO of SGH and CEO of KK Women's and Children's Hospital (KKH).

Prof Kwek will relinquish his role as CEO of KKH and hand over the reins to Professor Alex Sia who is currently Chairman, Medical Board of KKH.

Prof Ang will continue in his role as Deputy Group CEO (Clinical Services and Informatics) at SingHealth.

Prof Kenneth Kwek has built his career over the course of three decades at KKH, holding several key leadership positions at the hospital. In his new role as CEO of SGH, Prof Kwek will build on the strong foundation and steer SGH's infrastructure and care delivery transformation to ensure the flagship hospital is future-ready and achieves best-in-class healthcare practices.

In his new role as CEO of KKH, Prof Sia will further advance the hospital's mission as the top tertiary referral centre for women and children. He will also strengthen the hospital's academic medicine culture by deepening endeavours in research and education to improve patient care.

Succeeding Prof Sia as the new Chairman, Medical Board of KKH, is Adjunct Associate Professor Ng Kee Chong who is currently Chairman, Division of Medicine of KKH.
