"Cardiac MRI is a very specialised area of scanning.  The heart being a pumping organ located within the lungs, which is a moving region, makes it very challenging to be imaged.   As challenging as it is, it is very satisfying to be able to apply our knowledge and help the radiologist and cardiologist achieve the best images for their diagnosis.

Radiographers make the images aesthetically presentable for the doctors in the clinic and patients.  We need to apply a lot of physics knowledge to optimise the sequences that we are scanning in order to get the perfect image.

It is great to be able to help patients who are claustrophobic complete their MRI scans and leave the room feeling relieved."
