​Working with people and helping to meet their needs gives me great satisfaction. I remember working with a patient who was diagnosed with a major illness. As an MSW, I helped her to cope with the illness as she received medical treatment and supported her family by linking them with the right community resources for their own emotional health and well being. 

At the end of the day, the patient was more receptive towards receiving help from the network of support, and she began to approach her own personal care needs with greater awareness and sense of responsibility.
