1) Dr Yan Zhiyan

Topic: What You Need to Know About Your Breast   

Dr Yan is a Senior Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon at the Breast Centre, KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital and Clinical Assistant Professor with Duke-NUS Medical school. She was awarded the Ministry of Health Human Manpower Development Programme (HMDP) where she completed further subspecialty training in the field of oncoplastic breast surgery at the world-renowned cancer institute Royal Marsden Hospital in London. Her current practice covers all benign breast conditions, diagnosis and management of breast cancer.    Dr Yan believes breast cancer care should be individualized and a good aesthetic outcome is as important as a good oncological outcome. She firmly believes in the importance of public education for early detection of cancer and speaks regularly in public forums in both English and Mandarin. Dr Yan’s research interest includes the safe de-escalation of breast and axilla treatment and phyllodes tumours of the breast. In recognition of her dedication to the care of her patients she has been awarded multiple service awards. She is actively involved in the education of doctors and medical students and mentors both international and local doctors and students. 

2) Dr Cindy Goh Siaw Lin 
Consultant Plastic Surgeon, SGH 
 
Topic: Whole Again: Restoring Confidence and Identity Through Breast Reconstruction
 
Dr Cindy Goh is a Consultant Plastic Surgeon at Singapore General Hospital. A distinguished graduate of the University of Cambridge, she achieved First Class Honours her pre-clinical years and completed her medical degree (MBBChir) with a distinction in Pathology. Her surgical training includes experience in both the UK's National Health Service and Singapore's healthcare system. She undertook her specialist training in Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery with the SingHealth Residency programme. During this time, she received the Outstanding Resident Award in Plastic Surgery in 2018 and 2019. She was awarded the Gold Medal by the College of Surgeons Singapore for her performance at the national Plastic Surgery board examinations. 
 
Her clinical interests are centred around aesthetic and microsurgical reconstruction of the human body, with particular focus on breast surgery and body contouring. Her research contributions span various aspects of plastic and reconstructive surgery, with numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals. She is actively working on expanding the breast reconstruction service at Singapore General Hospital and driving value-drive care initiatives related to breast reconstruction. She regularly runs didactic teaching sessions for the residents and medical students in the department and has been a table instructor at various workshops - suturing skills, microsurgical skills and cadaver anatomical dissection. 
 
3) Ms Laura New

Ms Laura New is a Breast Care Nurse at Singapore General Hospital, where she brings together clinical expertise and heartfelt dedication to every patient she cares for. Passionate about ensuring no woman faces her breast cancer journey alone, she goes beyond the clinic to provide holistic support and care. 
 
As the driving force behind the SGH Blossom Support Group, Ms New has built a warm and nurturing community where patients and survivors can connect, share their experiences, and find strength in one another.
