Current research programme focuses on impairment of hypoglycaemia awareness in type 2 diabetes , hypoglycaemia in the elderly type 2 diabetes and strategies in improving inpatient diabetes care.
Completed MD postgraduate degree in Kings’ College London, using positron emission topography neuroimaging technique to research into the phenomenon of impaired hypoglycaemia awareness in type 1 diabetes patients, under the supervision of Professor Stephanie Amiel.
Was a consultant endocrinologist in the Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust (HEFT) in the United Kingdom prior to joining SGH in 2014. While working in HEFT, Dr Teh
set up the first islet transplant service in the Midlands . Dr Teh was also
the Committee Member of the Clinical Reference Group for Specialised Diabetes in West Midlands ,Medical advisor to the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) and the Medical assessor for the Driving and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA).
