"A common misconception about speech therapist is that we teach people how to sing and that all of us have fabulous singing voices!

The field of speech therapy is wide and ever-changing.  One of the greatest rewards of being a speech therapist is helping my patient with dysphagia (difficulty with swallowing).  There is no better feeling than watching my patient make progress over time, whether it is the first sip of water or the first time tasting his/her favourite food again after a long time.  Each step that they take, no matter how small, is celebrated!"
